Provider Selection Advisor

As consumers face increasing out-of-pocket healthcare costs and higher premiums, they need credible information to help them weigh cost and quality factors in their healthcare decisions. Healthcare transparency has re-shaped how consumers use health plans' provider directories. The directory has become more than just a provider look-up tool. It now helps drive public awareness and reporting of useful cost and quality information.

Create a strong first impression

Provider Selection Advisor

Consumers' first experience with their health plan or employer portal typically happens when they are looking for a doctor. The value of that initial experience can affect how consumers perceive your portal and whether they view it as an important resource for health information. With the increasing demand for transparency in healthcare, your provider directory now becomes an important place for consumers to be fully engaged in selecting providers on more than location, but cost, quality, and experience as well.

WebMD's Provider Selection AdvisorSM gives consumers the provider information they need so they can make more informed decisions based on both quality and cost. It also provides guidance to help consumers use the information, which gives you an opportunity to further engage them and drive a better online experience.

Experience seamless decision-making

Provider Selection Advisor

Consumers have many healthcare choices to make, and finding a provider is only one decision of many. But vast amounts of data without organization or guidance only create a more frustrating experience. The Provider Selection Advisor is completely integrated with the rest of WebMD's health portal, including WebMD Hospital AdvisorSM and WebMD Treatment Cost AdvisorSM, as well as our full suites of health management and information resources. This integration walks consumers through a complete healthcare decision-making process, rather than sending them into a variety of disconnected tools to collect all the information they need.

Support your transparency initiatives

Provider Selection Advisor supports your organization's transparency initiatives with the optional Network Transparency module. This allows your organization to display your physician-specific cost and quality information, leveraging the consensus-building activities you have already undertaken with your network providers on what is the right information to display to consumers.

Flexible quality data options

Provider Selection Advisor

Having confidence in the provider data you are presenting is critical in the selection of a provider directory. WebMD clients can supply their own up-to-date provider network files to act as the core data in Provider Selection Advisor. For clients that don't have access to provider network data, the application leverages WebMD's Little Blue Book physician database, which is the gold standard for accurate physician data. WebMD's provider directory data cleansing process is comprised of several key steps that integrate, cleanse, and augment the data.

Re-evaluate your provider directory

Is your current directory solution keeping up with the needs of your members or employees? Now is the time to re-evaluate as consumers drive transparency initiatives. Your opportunity is not just to present information, but to guide and educate consumers so they can make better healthcare decisions.
