Christina Shane-Simpson, MSW, PhD

Senior Researcher

Dr. Christina Shane-Simpson is a Senior Researcher at the Center for Research. She is an experienced mixed method researcher with expertise in developmental psychology, media studies, and interactive pedagogy. Dr. Shane-Simpson has >10 years of research investigating relationships between human behavior, cultural norms, social capital, and well-being in digital environments and through digital products. She has authored >30 peer-reviewed publications and presented at cross-disciplinary regional, national, and internal conferences.

At WebMD Health Services, Dr. Shane-Simpson conducts research on employee well-being through the lens of behavioral science, works closely with product teams to embed the science of behavior change into our solutions, and leads client evaluations designed to assess the impact of behavior change interventions.

Dr. Shane-Simpson has a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a master’s degree in social work, and a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology with a certificate in Interactive Technology and Pedagogy. In addition to her research positions, she has served as a clinical social worker, a non-profit project manager, and a professor.

Christina currently lives in the Chicago, IL area with her partner, two children, and two dogs. She is an avid fan of all things media (books, movies, games) and thoroughly enjoys traveling to new cultural destinations with her family and friends.
