
Keith Klopfer, MD
Lead Clinical Informaticist
Keith Klopfer is the Lead Clinical Informaticist at WebMD Health Services and the Center for Research, and currently manages the product development of the WebMD Thesaurus – the clinical terminology platform for all WebMD products and services. He has over 20 years of experience in clinical terminology management and works closely with our software development teams to design and implement solutions that leverage the WebMD Thesaurus. Keith also has a passion for understanding the ways health data are expressed using clinical terminologies and how best to design applications that successfully ingest and analyze this information.
Keith earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Swarthmore College and his Medical Degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. He went on to pursue a National Library of Medicine post-doctoral fellowship in Medical Informatics from Oregon Health and Science University, where he also completed a master’s degree in medical informatics. In his free time, he enjoys backpacking, fly fishing, and spending time outdoors with his family.
