T-Shirts, Sports, Wizardry & Well-Being
Think that fashion, football, magic and health don’t go together? Think again. For WebMD Health Services Health Coach Chadwick Bedel, these things are all part of his world. We had a chance to catch up with him and learn a bit more about each one.
So, are t-shirts your favorite thing to wear?
Well, I’m not sure if they’re my absolute favorite but I do love them and I really love the fact that I can wear t-shirts to work. It’s one of the perks of working at a company that knows how to focus on what really matters.
Working at WebMD gives me a chance to help people on a daily basis through meaningful conversations. I’ve lived and breathed health and well-being through my whole life so having the opportunity to do this on a daily basis feels like the most natural thing in the world.
What sports are you into?
What sports I’m not into might almost be an easier question to answer but I’d have to say I could talk football, basketball or baseball for hours with anyone who would listen that long. And, I’m likely the biggest Minnesota Vikings fan you’ll ever find in Indiana.
Are you a magician?
No, not quite but I am an avid reader and absolutely love fantasy books that center around magic and wizards. There’s just something about that whole realm that I really enjoy.
So well-being to you means…
When I think well-being, I envision a spectrum that encompasses the physical, mental and social aspects of life. Just because somebody is in fantastic physical shape, doesn’t necessarily mean they have a positive sense of well-being. It’s all about finding balance on those different levels, and ultimately being happy with thelife you create for yourself.
That’s part of why I enjoy such a variety of things whether it be watching sports, going to the gym (probably skipping leg workouts if possible) or hanging out with my buddies and/or my girlfriend at a bar or restaurant—maybe even watching sports at the same time!
